The finale round of the Unihack 2023, the 2^nd Hackathon programming race, was organised on Sunday in the city by Google Developer Student Club under the Da Nang University of Technology and Science, and the Google Developer Groups GDG Cloud Da Nang.

The Green Guardians team answers questions relating to the Green Sorter project

As a result, the Green Guardians team won the first prize for the Green Sorter project - an application that provides knowledge and support for waste sorting.

This year's contest took ‘Tech for Environment’ as its theme to promote change and raise awareness about environmental protection with 4 evaluation criteria: feasibility, idea, technique and level of perfection. The theme of the contest was based on 3 of the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations.

The Green Sorter project aims to help users to classify garbage accurately and quickly, and better memorise knowledge about garbage classification, as well as motivate them to build healthy habits.

Meanwhile, the second prize went to the Finding Dory team for the Green Vision project. The application provided a solution to raise awareness of all global citizens about the impact of plastic waste and household waste on the environment.

The STeam team grabbed the third prize for their Oil Picker app. This application connects people who want to sell leftover cooking oil with oil recycling plants, thereby providing a convenient and safe platform for users to collect and buy cooking oil at home.

It is known that the Unihack 2023 took place from July 16 - 30 with many activities such as knowledge sharing, and exhibition booths of technology companies.
