The Da Nang Confederation of Labour held a ceremony on Tuesday to honour and award scholarships to 392 outstanding pupils in the 2022-2023 academic year who are children of workers, civil servants and public employees.

Accordingly, Certificates of Merit and scholarships, worth VND1 million each, were given to 156 pupils who won high prizes in national contests for excellent students and first prizes in municipal-level contest for pupils in grades 9 and 12.

At the same time, scholarships, valued at VND500,000 each, were granted to 188 pupils who overcome difficulties to study well, whilst 45 encouragement scholarships were provided for children of full-time trade union officials in the whole system.

On the occasion, the city's Confederation of Labour gave annual savings account interest rates and cash gifts of VND1 million each to 3 orphans who lost their parents due to COVID-19.

Currently, the Confederation of Labour is managing savings books, worth VND10 million each, and will give them to the children when they are 18.
