It is the third year in a row Da Nang has applied subsidies to fund education, getting the consensus and support of people, especially pupils and their parents.
Accordingly, the city's budget will provide VND316 billion for state-owned schools and VND92 billion for private ones.
The tuition waiver is applicable to preschoolers, and primary and secondary school pupils, of state-invested education institutions, including pupils of continuing education centres under the general education programme.
Meanwhile, preschoolers, along with primary and secondary school pupils, of non-public schools will be supported with 100% of their tuition fees. Pre-school children and primary and secondary school pupils in foreign-invested educational institutions are not supported.
Those who have enjoyed reduced tuition fees according to the central and municipal policies will be compensated with a support equal to 100% of the public tuition rate for the 2023-2024 academic year.
