The effective exploitation of digital data and programmes is a dilemma for many businesses.

Challenges in exploiting digital resources

Currently, many companies and businesses are taking advantage of available data sources and programmes to transfer activities and production materials to the digital environment. However, they find it difficult in filtering and exploiting when transferring data to the digital environment.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Tin, General Director of the Onemore Communications and Technology JSC based in Thanh Khe District’s Thac Gian Ward, said that although he has to spend tens of millions of VND per month to use digital software and programmes such as Microsoft Dynamic 365 and HTsoft BizMan ERP, he has not been able to effectively manage and exploit them.

He pointed out the main reason for the abovementioned problem is that the thinking and use capacity of enterprises is still weak. This creates waste and economic loss for businesses.

According to Mr. Tin, businesses have not calculated data about accuracy, safety and cost to set up data as well as find software that is close, and easy to access and use.

Meanwhile, Mr. Phan Minh Tien, General Director of the Unitech JSC based in Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District, said that he is managing a very large ecosystem with dozens of affiliated companies operating, so there is a large amount of data needed to be processed.

From that experience, he realised that many businesses are concerned about security, confidentiality, and accuracy when sharing information and data on the repository.

If you invest in a data warehouse yourself, the cost is quite large and almost businesses in the area do not have enough funds to set up and maintain separate operations. In addition, with the inexperienced human resources and the ability to exploit data, it has created a barrier that makes it difficult for businesses to focus on data administration and not to optimise results.

Data synchronisation

Director of the representative office of the MISA JSC in Da Nang (MISA Da Nang) Nguyen Hong Hai remarked, when understanding the difficulties of businesses in exploiting digital data, the company has supported and provided a digital transformation platform for a total of 6,500 businesses in the city with such programmes as AMIS Accounting, e-invoices, input invoice processing services, remote electronic digital signature, AMIS social insurance, AMIS personal income tax, MISA Wesign digital signing platform, MISA CukCuk restaurant and cafe management software, and MISA Eshop sales software.

Chairman of the Da Nang Software Business Association (DSA) Pham Kim Son affirmed that the creation and exploitation of digital data is identified as a core factor as well as a key difference for the digital transformation process.

He stressed the need for enterprises to combine the three factors of technology, people, and legal corridor to build an effective database.

He advised that, before implementing and setting up plans and projects, businesses need to build a strategic vision by selecting a quality human resources team, and clearly identifying the missing elements to supplement and exploit data for the right purposes, thereby ensuring the privacy and security of the data.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Information and Communications Tran Ngoc Thach, the establishment and exploitation of digital data is the core factor for the digital transformation process in the city.

The city is implementing data synchronisation from all levels, ensuring that data in all formats can be linked together in a bid to create a large centralised database network, full of information.

Additionally, the city will be more open, creative and flexible in data management policies to effectively exploit digital data, as well as promote cooperation with specialised units to help local businesses use digital data intelligently and quickly.

In the near future, Da Nang will have new governance models to solve digital transformation problems to create new services and digital economic models to help businesses effectively orient their strategies, goals, and digital transformation ways.
