On Thursday afternoon, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh visited and worked with Professor Odon Vallet, the sponsor of the Odon Vallet Scholarship Fund, and Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the Meet Vietnam organisation on the occasion of the professors coming to the city to give annual scholarships to local students.

At the meeting, Chairman Chinh thanked Professor Odon Vallet and his colleagues in the Meet Vietnam organisation for always accompanying and giving favour to students of Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, for many years.

He hoped that the Odon Vallet Scholarship Fund would continue to support the city in the coming time in order to motivate local students to overcome difficulties to continue their studying path.

Established in 2001, the organisation’s Vallet Scholarship Fund has been sponsored by Professor Odon Vallet from France’s Sorbonne University.

As of 2022, over 50,000 Vallet scholarships with a total value of VND400 billion had been given for poor Vietnamese pupils and students in Viet Nam who had gained excellent academic achievements.
