Over 290,000 pupils citywide enter new school year
More than 290,000 pupils at all levels, from kindergarten to primary, secondary and high school officially began their 2023-2024 academic year following brief and solemn ceremonies on Tuesday morning.

Municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang and People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong attended the opening ceremony of the new school year at the Hai Chau District-based Ly Tu Trong Primary School.
Mrs. Tran Thi Le, Lady Principal of the Ly Tu Trong Primary School, said that in the 2023-2024 school year, the school has 1,200 pupils, including 240 first graders. The school tries to focus on professional training for teachers to improve their teaching quality and meet the goals of the 2018 Education Programme. At the same time, the school’s teachers will make their efforts to arouse and awaken the capacity of pupils in order to help them to be confident and bold in expressing their abilities.

On behalf of the city's leaders, Secretary Quang sent a big basket of flowers to congratulate the school and its pupils on the new school year. After the opening ceremony, he visited the kitchen, swimming pool, and school library, as well as encouraged the school to continue its efforts to bring the best learning environment for pupils.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, the Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted achieved many remarkable results with many students winning high prizes at municipal and national-level competitions.100% of pupils passed the national senior high school graduation exam. 99.43% of pupils achieved excellent academic results.
In the 2023-2024 school year, the school welcomes 299 10th graders. The school continues to carry out its mission of discovering and fostering talents for the city and the country, thereby creating preeminent educational values in the direction of promoting qualities, core competencies and talents of each individual. Additionally, it strives to perform well its tasks, enhance the capacity of teachers and educational administrators, and promote creative and innovative activities.

In his speech delivered at the opening ceremony of the new academic year, Mr. Nguyen Cuu Huy, the Principal of the Tran Phu Senior High School, remarked the school has continuously made every effort to improve the quality of education, achieving many achievements in teaching and learning activities over the past years. He hoped that 2,274 pupils will continue to promote the good tradition of the school, and try their best to achieve great academic achievements in the new school year.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Council Tran Phuoc Son attended the opening ceremony of the new academic year at the Mai Dang Chon Primary School based in Ngu Hanh Son District.
In the new school year, the school welcomed 210 first grade pupils, bringing the total number to 1,012 in 30 classes.

In the new academic year, the school strives to affirm its brand by taking a number of management and direction solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of education; as well as to innovate teaching methods and promote digital transformation and socialisation in education.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the school welcomes 501 6th graders, bringing the total number of pupils in the school to 1,525. It continues to promote its achieved results in previous school years, and improve modern facilities.
Along with that, the school strives to well implement the industry's campaigns and emulation movements, as well as innovate inspection and evaluation work and improve the quality of school officials, teachers and staff.
