Exciting science and technology festival for students
The Science Research Conference and Technology Exhibition (BKDN Techshow) in the 2023-2024 academic year took place at the Da Nang-based Tran Phu Senior High School last weekend.

Co-hosted by the Da Nang University of Science and Technology (DUT), the municipal Department of Education and Training, and the Tran Phu Senior High School, the event aimed to review scientific research activities among DUT students, as well as provide senior high school pupils citywide with science and technology-related knowledge and creative thinking skills.
On display at the two-day event were 80 technology products and 62 posters in total created by DUT students and senior high school pupils citywide.
Within the framework of the festival, there was a science and technology conference for students.
Among 283 scientific research projects, developed by students, the best three ones were chosen to honour for their high applicability. They were projects on automatic sunshade system in residential buildings, developing antibacterial wound dressings using chitosan nanofibers combined with communist plant extract, and computer communication and control through hand gestures in the field of computer vision.
In addition to student-made topics, 8 projects developed by pupils from Tran Phu, Le Quy Don and Thanh Khe senior high schools in Da Nang, and Le Thanh Tong Senior High School in Quang Nam Province, were selected for reporting.
Most of them featured the application of smart systems to improve production efficiency and social life such as engineering biological simulation hands, smart water flow meters using renewable energy generator, seeding machine, automatic flood warning system, making pellets from corn cobs, smart glove keyboard for the speech and hearing impaired, Vi2VSL app converting Vietnamese language into sign language through 3D animation, and a thought-to-speech conversion system for post-stroke patients and people with language disabilities.
