The contest attracted the participation of 9 competition teams who competed in two categories, namely a multiple-choice test to assess contestants’ knowledge and understanding of the 2008 Road Traffic Safety Law and Decree No. 100/2019 on administrative penalties for violations of the safety of rail transport and road traffic, along with skit practice test related to traffic safety that required the contestants to reflect the current the road safety situation in the city, as well as present their ideas and solutions for road traffic safety.

Nguyen Huu Huy, a member of the Da Nang Vocational College’s competition team that won the first prize in this contest shared that the competition teams were all very talented, and had the ability to speak eloquently and persuasively while their skits were written in a meticulous manner. Therefore, the school's competition team did their utmost to use many methods to find out information about the current traffic safety status of young road users in the city and related issues in a bid to achieve their expected results. The contest helped Huy and his teammates improve their teamwork skills, public speaking skills and other soft skills.

It is known that the skit performed by the Da Nang Vocational College’s team was highly praised by the contest’s jury board as it truly reflected the current the road safety status of young road users in the city.

Ms. Duong Phan Tra My, the Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Vocational College’s Youth Union organization, said that the school’s team spent time thinking about their skit with a desire to convey a meaningful message to citywide college students. Based on the given situation, the skit of the school’s team implied unpredictable consequences of not obeying traffic laws, running red lights, swerving on the road, using the wrong lane, and other traffic offences, for young people. The skit warned young motorbike riders about the dangers of careless riding, and they were encouraged to pay attention when they are behind the wheel to reduce deaths and serious injuries across Da Nang’s roads. In their efforts to avoid boring their audience, the school’s team added humorous elements to their skit to keep their audience attention.

Meanwhile, the Dong A University’s team that won second prize in the contest convinced the judges with their confidence in deep understanding and knowledge of traffic rules.

Nguyen Anh Tai, who is a third- year student of the Dong A University and a member of the school’s competition team, said that the jury's questions were closely related to the current road safety issues in the city. Based on their previously prepared knowledge, the school’s team confidently gave the contest’s jury accurate answers. Through the contest, the Dong A University’s team wanted to spread the message of working and living towards a culture of compliance with applicable laws and rules to young people. In addition, they reflected in the alarming increase in the number of young riders of gas-powered and electric motorcycles who are not wearing a helmet while riding, are speeding or overtaking recklessly, as well as are running on prohibited roads.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thao, the Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Youth Union, said that the contest is a meaningful playground for college students in Da Nang to increase their knowledge and practice behavior regarding road safety. Through the contest, the municipal Youth Union hopes that each young person in Da Nang will become an ambassador of traffic culture in order to encourage their friends, families, and their local communities to enhance compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as develop traffic safety culture, thereby contributing to ensuring the effective implementation of the ‘City of 4 Safe’ program, making the city very different from other Vietnamese localities.
