In the 2022-2023 school year, for the first time, the Students Association of the Da Nang University awarded the ‘White Bird Wing’ award to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in association work, models, initiatives, innovative startups, scientific research topics successfully applied.

According to the Student Association of the Da Nang University, the ‘White Bird Wing’ award was handed out in 3 categories, namely ‘Incubating Bird Wing’, ‘Creative Bird Win’ and ‘Inspiring Bird Wing’.

In particular, the ‘Creative Bird Wing’ category is awarded to individuals and groups with innovative start-up projects and scientific research projects that win awards from the University of Da Nang level or higher and are successfully applied.

The ‘Inspiring Bird Wing’ category is given out to individuals with outstanding achievements for many consecutive years, contributing to the development of the association's work and the student movement.

The ‘Incubating Bird Wings’ category is awarded to individuals and groups with models and solutions that have been successfully applied in association work and student movements at all levels.

Every year, the Board of Judges selects and awards up to 5 awards in each of the above-mentioned categories, including a ‘White Bird Wing’ award logo, certificates of merit and cash.

At the beginning of the 2023 school year, the Students Association of the Da Nang University focused on publicising the meaning of the award and the award categories to association campuses and students of universities and junior colleges across the city who register for the awards, thereby, contributing to promoting the spirit of learning, training, volunteering for the community, scientific research, and entrepreneurship for students.

The map application to find accommodation for students ‘BK's Map’ made by the Student Consulting Team from the Da Nang University of Science and Technology is one of 5 excellent projects winning the ‘White Bird Wing’ award in the ‘Incubating Bird Wing’ categories.

Captain of the Student Advisory Team Nguyen Tan Anh said, ‘BK's Map’ is a non-profit project, developed based on the My Map function of Google Maps. The boarding house data on "BK's Map" is contributed by students and boarding house owners through the link https://bom.so/MNovNx.

In addition, the My Map platform has all the necessary information such as address, number of available rooms, phone numbers and room images, and it is always updated regularly to ensure accurate and timely information.

The ‘BK's Map’ application attracted more than 59,000 visits in 2022 and 19,000 in 2023. Currently, the application is continuing to be improved to not only serve students of the Da Nang University of Science and Technology, but also students across the city in general.

Meanwhile, Huynh Thi Nhu Ngoc, a student at the Faculty of Geography, the University of Education, is one of the five students receiving the ‘White Bird Wing’ award in the category ‘Inspiring Bird Wing’. Nhu Ngoc has made herself stand out with many achievements in volunteer activities for the community, studying and volunteering blood donation.

In the 2022-2023 school year, Ngoc achieved excellent academic results. During the summer 2023 volunteer campaign in Dien Phong Commune, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province, she actively engaged in publicising drowning prevention skills to people, and participated in digitizing historical and cultural sites here.

In recent years, Ngoc has participated in voluntary blood donation many times at medical facilities in the city. With many efforts in studying, training, and volunteering, Ngoc is often commended by her school and the city's Students Association.

“I am very happy and honoured to receive the ‘White Bird Wing’ award for the first time in the ‘Inspiring Bird Wing’ category. This is the motivation for me to continue to make greater efforts to study, practice, and contribute to the community in the coming time.”, Ngoc confided.

Vice President of the Da Nang Students Association Do Le Hung Toan said that, in 2023, the Student Association of the Da Nang University awarded the ‘White Bird Wing’ award to 13 individuals and groups in 3 categories.

In detail, in the ‘Incubating Bird Wings’ category, 3 collectives were commended, and each of the ‘Inspiring Bird Wing’ and ‘Creative Bird Wing’ categories honoured 5 individuals and groups.

In particular, the ‘White Bird Wing’ award is one of three models and solutions honored by the Da Nang Students Association with the '9-1 Award' in 2023.
