Accordingly, a 4-storey block with a total of 20 classrooms, 3 subject classrooms (multi-function, natural science, information technology), and a number of functional rooms (room for learning support and education of students with disabilities, and 2 teacher rooms) will be built to replace the 3-storey block with 18 classrooms and the current garage which are degraded to a dangerous C level after 22 years of use.
In addition, there will be a parking garage, drainage ditches, a fire prevention and fighting system, concrete yard, garden, green trees, and teaching equipment.
The project is assigned to the Son Tra District People's Committee as the investor and will be implemented from now until 2026.
According to the Son Tra District People's Committee, the Nguyen Chi Thanh Junior High School was built and put into use 22-24 years ago.
In particular, the theoretical classroom block has been degraded to a dangerous level C, and its functionality does not meet usage requirements. Many classrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors are leaky due to rain.
The school is providing training and education activities for 997 pupils with 28 classes. The number of school pupils is expected to increase to 1,200 with 30 classes by 2025 and 1,500 with 38 classes by 2030.
