Da Nang students win first prize at SV-Startup 2024
A group of students from the VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) under the University of Da Nang has beaten other participants to win the first prize at the ‘VSTARTUP 2024 Student Startup’ competition for the project ‘BINKS - Botanical Inks - New direction for green agriculture’.
The event was co-organised by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Can Tho People's Committee.
The group’s project takes advantage of leftover vegetables, tubers, and fruits from markets and farms to create ink and paint products that meet users’ needs and are safe, inspirational, and meaningful to the environment.
In addition, the University of Da Nang has won two more consolation prizes at the competition for the project "Environmentally friendly scalp protection wrap" by VNUK students, and the project "Asthma warning bracelet" by students of the University of Economics.
The ‘VSTARTUP 2024 Student Startup’ competition was open to pupils and students aged between 12 and 24 who are studying at universities, colleges, and senior and junior high schools nationwide.
This year’s event attracted 707 projects, thereby creating an environment for contestants to apply knowledge and skills to come up with initiatives and solutions to solve problems of community and form creative ideas and breakthrough start-up projects.
