The Da Nang University of Science and Technology has recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Cognex Vietnam Co., Ltd. on training to use and developing Cognex machine vision technology - image recognition technology to identify, measure and classify objects.

Under the deal, the Cognex Vietnam will sponsor two machine vision systems to serve the teaching of the university, as well as install and train Cognex in-sight vision suite simulation software on 100 computers.

At the same time, the two sides will coordinate to organise training sessions on machine vision technology, knowledge sharing activities, recruitment events, and internship programmes for students.

The signing of cooperation between the two sides provides the good opportunity for lecturers and students of the Electrical and Mechanical faculties to access Cognex technology to study, research, and improve job opportunities after graduation.

Founded in 1981, Cognex is the world’s leading provider of vision systems, software, sensors, and industrial barcode readers used in manufacturing automation.

Cognex serves an international customer base from offices located throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia, and through a global network of integration and distribution partners. The company is headquartered close to Boston in Natick, Massachusetts, USA.

Currently, industries in Viet Nam are developing towards high technology, image processing applications and artificial intelligence. Many companies and factories are using products and solutions from Cognex.
