Choosing a university is difficult but important to high school students. Choosing the right university is one of the most important decisions high school students will make in their life as the university one chooses can have a profound impact on a student's career and future. The ‘campus tour’ program will help students learn about learning and living environment at university in order to make the right decision when choosing a university for them.

One day in early May, 50 students from the Hy Vong (Hope) Primary, Junior and Senior High School under the FPT Corporation has set foot on the University of Science and Technology under the University of Da Nang for the first time under the experience program "DUT Campus tour".

A male student who was among the program’s participants said that he came to the university in all the excitement to learn about faculty of mechanical engineering technology that he plans to study in the future. Like other participants in this program, he was led by teachers and volunteers to visit classrooms, laboratories, and mechanical workshops. He confidently asked questions about things he did not know or understand during his visit to these places.

The "campus tour" program gave him a chance to talk with the university’s students. Through their conversations, he not only learned some valuable experiences during his visit to the university where he was inspired and motivated to study harder to achieve his goals. The university’s lecturers also enthusiastically introduced training programs and job opportunities after graduation to the program’s participants.

“I have a chance to attend a session in a robotics class during my visit to the University of Science and Technology to learn about how to operate a robot arm. In addition, I also enjoy firsthand seeing modern equipment of the Engine and Vehicle Testing Center, thereby helping me have a more realistic view of the industrial machinery mechanics", he excitedly said.

Always looking at her students with gentle eyes, teacher Le Thi Chau, the Principal of the Hy Vong Primary, Junior, and Senior High School, introduced the field trip program to learn about practice and research rooms. The experience program at the  University of Science and Technology partly helped high school students who love science and technology explore and learn, as well as nurture their passion for creativity and research. Furthermore, the program also helped connect high school pupils with a group of robotics students, giving them a chance to interact with these students in order to enable them to receive advice on how to build a robot to attend science and technology competitions for school pupils.

Co-organized by the University of Science and Technology, and the Hy Vong Primary, Junior and Senior High School, the experience program "DUT Campus Tour" aimed to motivate school pupils who lost relatives during the COVID-19 pandemic to study well.

Dr. Nguyen Van Trieu, the Director of the Learning Resources & Communication Center of the University of Science and Technology, said that the ‘Campus tour’ program helped high school pupils make the right decision for their future and career path. Besides, the program also offered the opportunity to the university to promote its image and attract potential students.

Previously, the Vietnam–Korea University of Information and Communication Technology – VKU under the University of Da Nang had welcomed nearly 2,000 high school students in Da Nang and the provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Thua Thien Hue who had participated  in the ‘VKU Campus tour 2024’ experience program.

A female student of the Tran Phu Senior High School, said that she likes about doing business so she planned to apply for admission to the Faculty of Digital Economy and E-commerce, majoring in Business Administration. She had a chance to learn more about the training programs, facilities, learning equipment, laboratories, practice and research rooms, and more while participating in the ‘VKU Campus tour 2024’ program.

"I am interested in VKU’s admission information 2024 so this experience program gives me a chance to learn more about it. In addition to my favorite faculties and majors, I have also the opportunity to learn about such interesting majors as Digital Art Design, Business Administration, Artificial Intelligence, Logictics and Digital Supply Chain Management, Tourism and Travel Service Management.”, she said.

Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, the Vice Principal of VKU, said that the school’s annual ‘Campus tour’ program aimed to help high school students learn more about the university learning and living environment. thereby providing career advice to them.

“The free meaningful experience program helps connect high school pupils, their parents with the school. The good news is that most of the participants get excited about exploring the learning environment at VKU, and the school's year over year average admission score increases significantly. The number of candidates admitted directly to the school has risen sharply with more than 400 students a year, accounting for nearly 30% of the total, compared with a combined total of 1,538 enrolled students per year, bringing the total number of the school’s students to nearly 6,000 till date", Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho added.

Along with that, the experience program also helps its participants to learn about  the learning environment, student culture, and extracurricular activities, thereby facilitating them to choose the right university for them.
