Da Nang universities support freshmen
At the beginning of September, after completing enrollment procedures, universities across Da Nang have initiated various activities to support freshmen. These activities help new students quickly settle in and find the motivation to adapt to their new environment.

Starting in July, the Student Support Team from the University of Science and Technology- the University of Da Nang conducted surveys and compiled lists of suitable rental accommodations to assist parents and students in need.
Pham Thai Viet Trung, Deputy Head of the Student Support Team, shared that at the freshman day event, the team provided a QR code for a map of nearby rentals to help new students find accommodation. Additionally, a hotline was available for those unfamiliar with the area or without transportation, offering direct assistance from volunteers. Since September, the application has received 3,000 to 4,000 visits, preventing students from encountering issues such as fraud, overpriced rentals, or misleading property descriptions.
Nguyen Hoang Quynh Huong, a freshman at the University of Science and Technology, expressed gratitude for the orientation sessions and guidance provided by senior students, which boosted her confidence and helped her integrate into university life. She eagerly looks forward to learning and discovering new things in her academic journey.
At the University of Science and Education - the University of Da Nang, the student union also compiled lists of available accommodations and supported students with finding housing, training soft skills, and setting up online groups to answer questions about school regulations and study plans. In late August, the university organized a series of citizenship week activities for freshmen, offering important information on academic regulations, graduation requirements, and scholarship policies, as well as guidance on banking applications.
During citizenship week, students could ask questions about their rights and responsibilities throughout their time at the university. Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai Hiep, Secretary of the Student Union, mentioned that the university would soon hold a freshman opening ceremony featuring cultural performances, traditional games, and sports events. He encouraged students to set specific academic goals and avoid distractions, assuring them that the university would support them throughout their learning journey.
The University of Economics - the University of Da Nang welcomed 3,500 new students for the 2024-2025 academic year. The student union organized various activities from day one, including campus tours, career orientation, and scholarship presentations. The union also established teams to assist students with enrollment procedures, finding accommodation, and registering for dormitories.
Mr. Tran Xuan Quynh, Secretary of the Student Union, noted that the university has 18 clubs and organizations that will host numerous cultural, sports, and social activities to foster connections among new students.
