A workshop entitled "Biotechnology for sustainable development in Da Nang: from research to application and commercialisation" was held in the city on Wednesday by the Biotechnology Centre under the municipal Department of Science and Technology.

The event was within the framework of implementing Action Program No. 32-CTr/TU dated June 16, 2023 of the Standing Committee of the municipal Party Committee and Plan No. 188/KH-UBND dated October 10, 2023 on implementing Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW dated January 30, 2023 of the Politburo on the development and application of biotechnology for sustainable development of the country in the new situation.

Accordingly, Da Nang targets to become an ecological and smart city, and a smart manufacturing and service centre in the biotechnology sector in the Asian region by 2045.

During the workshop, the participants were informed about sustainable development models and strategies from South Korea, Switzerland and European countries. They also engaged in discussing the potential, challenges and solutions to promote the biotechnology industry in Da Nang, contributing to the sustainable development of the city.

On the occasion, the Da Nang Biotechnology Centre signed cooperation agreements in biotechnology with the Hoang Phong DANA Company Limited, the Minh Hong Biotechnology JSC, and the Protein - Enzyme Technology Research and Startup Group.

Within the framework of the workshop, there was a space to display and introduce products of biotechnology enterprises in the city.
