The second edition of the circuit design competition for smart cities in 2024 officially kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday.

The event was jointly organised by the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-tech Park, and the Da Nang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Center for Research and Training (DSAC).

The annual competition aims to train, seek potential projects and develop talent in designing circuits to support the development of smart cities in Viet Nam, as well as create a premise for the development of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology platform, computing technology and artificial intelligence.

With the theme "Dual transformation for development of sustainable green cities”, the competition is open to students and trainees at universities and colleges nationwide who want to design microchips and have ideas about applied research.

To support contestants, DSAC, in coordination with the organising boards in Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi, provides funding for the use of specialised software in EDA chip production.

Candidates can register online through the competition's website at https://bit.ly/ICDesign2024-register from now until March 10, 2025.

The final round and award ceremony of the competition is scheduled to take place in May 2025. The total prize value of the contest is VND 150 million.
