The coordination between the municipal Veterans’ Association and the Youth Union in political and ideological education, and studying and following the moral example and style of Ho Chi Minh has been innovated in many diverse forms, with widespread influence.

On public holidays and anniversaries, the two units jointly organise festivals for propagating revolutionary songs at all levels, the art programme "Should be a red wreath, should be a golden history" to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; and mass art festival “Song of Great Unity” to welcome the Congress of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front of the city for the 2024-2029 term.

Recently, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Viet Nam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defence Day, the municipal Youth Union coordinated with the Veterans Association to organise the programme “Exchange with historical witnesses” themed “Following the tradition of our ancestors, accompanying young people in establishing their careers”.

The programme had the participation of heroes of the People's Armed Forces, leaders of the municipal Youth Union, the Veterans Association, and more than 160 veterans, youth union members, and students.

During the programme, war veterans and youth union members watched a documentary film about the tradition of the Viet Nam People's Army and listened to historical witnesses, heroes of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Thi Tam and Tran Ngoc Trung share touching stories about patriotism, sacrifice, and the spirit of overcoming difficulties.

For youth union members and young people, this was a programme with profound educational significance, helping them understand historical values and fostering pride in revolutionary traditions, while encouraging the spirit of dedication and promoting civic responsibility to build the country.

Additionally, trips were organsied to historical sites to enhance traditional education for the younger generation. During the 2020-2024 period, the municipal Veterans’ Association and its chapters at all levels and the Youth Union organisations citywide organised more than 305 forums and seminars on the meaning and content of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament with more than 25,600 members participating.

Moreover, through activities to educate revolutionary traditions and gestures of gratitude, youth union members and young people are oriented to get involved in developing the economy, culture and society; eliminating hunger, reducing poverty; building new-style rural areas; preventing and combating crimes, drugs, and social evils; and coordinating with the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organisations to propagate the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.

Local young people engaged in participating in such campaigns as "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", "All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas"; and “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”.

The coordination between the municipal Veterans’ Association and the Youth Union in recent years has significantly contributed to educating the younger generation about traditions, arousing and fostering patriotism and the nation’s fighting tradition, and helping them live with ideals, and always actively participate in patriotic activities and emulation movements.
