Le Quy Don Senior High School pupils engaging in community activities
ATM ICE CREAM is an environmental protection and charity club founded by Huynh Minh Tri, born in 2007, residing in Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang, with strong support from parents. Since early 2022, this group has been actively conducting charity activities across various central provinces, a commitment that continues to this day.

Minh Tri, an outstanding student at the Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted, stands out not only academically but also for his active participation in charitable initiatives, reflecting a profound sense of responsibility and compassion towards the community.
Tri's commitment is evident in his involvement in numerous voluntary programmes, such as supporting underprivileged students in central border areas and protecting the environment. These activities not only generate positive societal impact but also inspire peers, families, and the wider community to embrace compassion and sharing.
One notable initiative spearheaded by Minh Tri involved organising charity programmes in Quang Binh Province. Acknowledging the educational challenges faced by students in this area, Tri, after family trips in 2022, rallied support from parents and classmates to launch philanthropic activities in the province.
In mid-2023, Tri and his friends conducted fundraising activities, amassing over VND 30 million. This fund was utilised to provide gifts for children in Thuong Hoa Commune, Minh Hoa District, Quang Binh Province.
When the Le Quy Don Senior High School pupils arrived at the Thuong Hoa Primary and Junior High School, the atmosphere transformed with the sound of lion drums and vibrant Mid-Autumn Festival lights brightening the forested area, creating an exhilarating festive mood. This special event allowed local pupils to experience a warm and fulfilling Mid-Autumn Festival.
Particularly during the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations for pupils in the mountainous areas of Quang Binh, Tri and the ATM ICE CREAM group delivered not only essential school supplies but also an important message on environmental conservation. They showcased creative and responsible practices through lanterns made from recycled materials like plastic bottles and used items.

In addition to fundraising, Tri and his friends undertook practical activities such as planting trees and supporting mental health patients. They collected materials from repair shops, tyre outlets, and scrap dealers to grow greenery, fruit trees, and flowers, creating relaxing spaces for patients at the Da Nang Mental Health Care Centre.
In November alone, driven by a spirit of sharing and community care, Tri allocated all the funds raised from 2023 to date, while rallying support from family and friends. His efforts garnered approximately VND 100 million.
Tri used this fund to establish a computer lab with internet access for pupils in the Viet Nam-Laos border areas, helping enhance educational opportunities. In the digital era, access to computers and the internet is critical. Tri's initiative not only opens up better learning opportunities for these pupils but also contributes to improving educational quality in remote areas, showcasing admirable compassion and social responsibility.
According to Mr Le Vien Thanh, Deputy Secretary of Hai Chau District Youth Union, the establishment of the ATM ICE CREAM club raises awareness of environmental protection among youth and supports vulnerable groups in society. It contributes to building a civilised, modern, and peaceful Hai Chau District. Despite being students, the club members have demonstrated profound vision and strong social consciousness through their environmental and charitable activities.
