The festival, themed ‘Experience the smart world’ was organized by FPT Da Nang School. The programme featured three main activities: FPT Schools Open Robot Tournament, Final of the STEMPetition at the grassroots level and a diverse STEM Challenges application experience space for the participants.
This year's FPT Schools Open Robot Tournament attracted 20 teams from schools. With the theme ‘Golden Season’, the teams designed "farmer" and "transportation" robots to recreate the journey of harvesting and storing rice - a unique symbol of Vietnamese agriculture.
Not only simulating the brilliant golden rice fields, the competition also inspired the pupils to apply technology in sustainable agricultural development. The teams competed in a round-robin format to select eight teams with the best results.
In the knockout round, these outstanding teams are divided into branches and competed in a knockout round. The Organising Committee awarded the First, Second, Third and Consolation prizes to the teams with the highest scores.
With the STEMPetition at the grassroots level, the final round had the participation of the 12 teams in the content: Scientific research and Engineering Technology.
Themed ‘The application of technology in green life’, the teams presented breakthrough products, combining modern technology with green solutions towards a sustainable future.
Some solutions presented by the students include the application of AI-IOT technology in waste classification and conversion; manufacturing a smart IOT farm model; treating wastewater from mushrooms with pH sensors and smart temperature monitoring, thereby, not only helping students apply interdisciplinary knowledge but also practicing project skills, creative thinking and effective presentation skills.
In addition, the STEM Challenges space highlighted more than 25 booths has brought a series of interesting STEM experience activities for pupils such as digital festival space, Virtual Reality (VR), Codings Star, Magic Fire, IQ CIRCUIT, 3D Puzzle Blocks, experimental performances, Robotics experience.
Nguyen Thi Kieu Ngan, the Director of FPT Da Nang School, said this year, the festival expanded in scale, bringing a large science and technology playground for teachers and pupils, contributing to promoting the development of the STEM education community. The school will continue to create conditions for pupils to compete in many domestic and international science and technology playgrounds, helping them maximize their potential and confidently step into the future.
