March is the most exciting time for movements in schools when the spirit of learning, training and dedication is strongly spread. In response to the Youth Month in 2025 and the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang (March 29, 1975 - 2025), schools citywide organised many meaningful activities, aimed at both improving the quality of teaching and learning, and fostering life skills and traditional education for pupils.

Delegations from the Nguyen Trai Senior High School and Lien Chieu Senior High School visited Heroic Vietnamese Mother Pham Thi Ta.

Promoting emulation movement of good teaching and good learning

All schools take emulation of good teaching and good learning as their core goal. In March, the Nguyen Trai Senior High School organised the school-level Excellent Teacher Competition. The competition offered the good opportunity for teachers to demonstrate their pedagogical capacity, and spread the spirit of innovation and creativity in teaching.

In addition, professional training sessions and training sessions on preparing national high school exam questions were also implemented to improve the quality of teaching.

The school also boosted the application of STEM (science - technology - engineering - maths) education to teaching with the aim to help pupils develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills - an important requirement in modern education. During the STEM classes, pupils actively participated in intellectual playgrounds and club activities to improve their communication skills and practical application.

Aside from professional activities, a conference to honour outstanding teachers in the 2020-2025 period was held to encourage the spirit of competition and create motivation for innovation.

Along with the Nguyen Trai Senior High School, the Lien Chieu Senior High School also implemented many innovative activities in teaching and learning. The school organised professional activities by topic to encourage teachers to apply active teaching methods. All schools aimed for the common goal of improving the quality of education and promoting learners' capacity.

Vice Principal of the Nguyen Trai Senior High School Phan Quoc Duy emphasised "The competitive activities in March not only create conditions for teachers and pupils to promote their capacity but also enhance innovation in teaching and learning methods, targeting for comprehensive education".

Traditional education connecting history with the young generation

In order to foster gratitude and national pride, the Nguyen Trai Senior High School organised many traditional education activities, including a visit to the "red address" B1 Hong Phuoc revolutionary base, and learning about literature and typical artists of Quang Nam Province through the local education programme and extracurricular activities of professional groups. These activities contributed to fostering love for the homeland, and raising awareness of preserving and promoting traditional values among pupils.

The spirit of youth also continued to spread strongly through many volunteer activities at schools. In particular, pupils were taken to visit Heroic Vietnamese Mothers. They had the opportunity to listen to heroic stories, and express their gratitude through simple but sincere gifts.

Moreover, the environmental protection movement was organised by the school to promote green living and create positive changes. Not only stopping at the movement, many pupils changed their awareness and actions after meaningful experiences. Through these activities, pupils gradually developed a sense of responsibility, gratitude and dedication, spreading positive values to the community.

Notably, schools in the city focused on training life skills through camps, soft skills programmes, and sports competitions.

The Youth Union organisation of the Nguyen Trai Senior High School made its mark with the painting contest titled "Da Nang - Proud of 50 years of Development”. At the same time, it cooperated with the Da Nang Youth Union, the Youth Union organisation in Lien Chieu District, and the People's Court and People's Procuracy of the district held a mock trial, helping pupils approach legal reality and raise civic awareness.

"These activities not only help school pupils practice life skills but also arouse their spirit of solidarity and responsibility to the community", Vice Principal of the Nguyen Trai Senior High School Phan Dinh Hung shared.

A 12th grader at the Nguyen Trai Senior High School said "March is very busy for us, but this is an opportunity to experience, train ourselves and connect with friends. These activities help us become more confident and responsible for the community".

Looking back at the activities held in March, Principal of the Nguyen Trai Senior High School Nguyen Duc Phuoc stated "March is not only an opportunity to promote movements, but more importantly, each activity aims to foster personality, awareness and responsibility for the community among pupils. We hope that when they leave school, they will nurture good values to confidently step into life".

Besides the Nguyen Trai or Lien Chieu senior high schools, the emulation movement of good teaching and good learning still resonates strongly in other schools in the city. The combination of knowledge, life skills and community activities not only improves the quality of education but also helps pupils develop comprehensively.

Although March ended, the impressions that teachers and pupils left behind are still intact. These activities not only improve the quality of education but also foster a sense of responsibility, patriotism and dedication among pupils. Each experience becomes a step on the journey to adulthood - where pupils not only learn to know, but also learn to do, learn to live together and learn to contribute.
