In 2025, the Viet Nam - Korea University of Information Technology and Communications under the UD opens 4 new majors and majors, namely Financial Technology (recruiting 60 bachelor's students) and 3 majors: Game Technology (60 engineering students), Data Analysis (60 engineering students) and Automotive Software Engineering Technology (60 engineering students).

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, the Rector of the University, these are majors with a strong development trend and meet current social needs, especially suitable for Da Nang’s development orientation of becoming a regional financial center. In addition, the majors of Game Technology, Data Analysis and Automotive Software Engineering are also fields with great potential for development. The trained human resources in these fields will contribute to promoting the development of the high-tech industry in Da Nang, while creating many job opportunities for the city’s residents.

This school year, the University of Economics under the UD opened 4 new training programmes: International Finance; Artificial Intelligence in Business; International Freight and Transport; International Trade Law.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, the Vice Rector of the university, the opening of these new training programmes is not only to diversify the fields of study, meeting the development trend of the digital economy, but also to directly serve the need for high-quality human resources for the expected development of the Regional Financial Centre and the Da Nang Free Trade Zone. These are major strategic orientations contributing to enhancing Da Nang’s position as an international financial and commercial hub in the future.

The University of Science and Education under the UD has been authorised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training to train in the field of Legal Education at the university level from this year’s enrollment season.

MSc. Dam Minh Anh, the Deputy Head of the Training Department, University of Science and Education, said that the opening of the new Legal Education major is an important development step, contributing to improving the training quality of teachers of law in the general education system and other training institutions.

To meet the needs of society, in the 2025 academic year, some other universities in the city also open new majors to attract students. Specifically, the University of Science and Technology under the UD has opened two new majors: Energy Management under the Thermal Engineering Department, the Faculty of Thermal and Refrigeration Technology to provide high-quality human resources in the field of energy auditing, energy saving and efficiency, and the major of Railway - Metro Construction under the Traffic Construction Engineering Department, the Faculty of Bridge and Road Construction in the context of the growing trend of developing traffic infrastructure for the North-South high-speed railway project.

In a similar vein, the University of Technology and Education has opened a new major: Design and Numerical Simulation in Mechanical Engineering under the Mechanical Engineering Technology Department (recruiting 45 students).

According to Dr. Nguyen Linh Nam, the Vice Rector of the University of Technology and Education, the major of Design and Numerical Simulation in Mechanical Engineering is being recruited during this school year. This is a new profession that is receiving attention and expectations from society.

Due to the current shift in trends of large manufacturing companies and corporations in the mechanical engineering sector in Viet Nam, from importing machinery and equipment to localizing production, human resources are required for calculation, design, and numerical simulation work before pilot manufacturing to move towards large-scale production.

As reported by representatives of universities, along with opening new majors and training programmes, universities are focusing on investing, supplementing and updating new content into training programmes, keeping up with the requirements of training innovation to adapt to social trends.

According to Assoc. Prof., Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, in parallel with opening new training majors, to increase the attractiveness for learners, the schools is innovating training and teaching organisations to equip learners with skills to meet job requirements after graduation.

Among them, there are programmes that are trained entirely in the English language such as: International Business, Digital Marketing, E-commerce; 16 partial English training programmes; 2 career orientation programmes (integrated international vocational certificates, partial English training). In addition, the school applies modern teaching methods or a combined training model to help students learn anytime, anywhere and interact easily with lecturers.
