What is drug-resistant Tuberculosis (DR- TB)?
May 05, 2023, 09:48 [GMT+7]
Drug-resistant TB occurs when a drug used to treat tuberculosis (TB) is no longer effective, meaning that the TB bacteria have become resistant to the drug itself. Drug-resistant TB can still be transmitted from an infected person to a healthy person through the air if there is close contact within the same space, through activities such as talking, coughing, or sneezing. Those around that infected person can inhale the tuberculosis bacteria and become infected.
