South Korea-Viet Nam Cultural Exchange Festival concludes
As part of activities to mark the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and South Korea, the South Korea-Viet Nam Cultural Exchange Festival 2015 took place at Da Nang’s Tien Son Sports Arena on Saturday and Sunday.
The event aimed to increase mutual cultural exchanges between Viet Nam and South Korea, and introduce the special cultural identities of the two countries to Da Nang's residents and visitors.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Saturday evening, the South Korean Ambassador to Viet Nam, Mr Jun Dae Joo, highlighted the fruitful bilateral cooperation between Da Nang and some South Korean localities over recent years.
The diplomat said that recent years have seen a significant increase in the number of direct flights between Da Nang and some South Korean localities to satisfy the travel demands of their businesses and residents. In addition, he highly praised the South Korean Department of Da Nang's College of Foreign Languages for its great efforts in teaching South Korean-language students over recent years.
The municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Dang Viet Dung, said he hoped that bilateral cooperation between Da Nang and South Korea would be strengthened even further in the years ahead. He said that the focus would be on organising more bilateral cultural exchange programmes to increase mutual understanding between the people of Da Nang and South Korea.
The 2-day event featured various exciting activities including fascinating arts performance by Korean and Vietnamese bands, exhibitions introducing South Korean culture and photos featuring the beautiful landscapes and people of Da Nang, and various exciting games.
