Yesterday evening, a spectacular arts programme entitled ‘Da Nang’s years of 20 – Flying with the Country’ took place at the Tien Son Sports Arena to mark the 20th anniversary of Da Nang’s recognition as a centrally-governed city on 1 January 1997.
The event was broadcast live on the national channels of VTV1 and VTV8.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, former member of the Party Secretariat and former Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Phan Dien, current Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh, and other city leaders, plus representatives from ministries, government agencies, and the authorities of other localities nationwide.
The arts show was divided into 3 parts, featuring famous domestic singers, including Anh Tuyet, Quag Hao, Phuong Linh, Anh Tuyet, Duc Tuan, Le Quyen, My Tam, and Trong Tan.
The 1st part, themed ‘Land of Love’, showcased impressive musical and circus performances to highlight the image of Da Nang as a heroic and unyielding city during its resistance wars against invaders, as well as the special fraternal solidarity between the city and Quang Nam Province.
The 2nd part, themed ‘Proud of My Beloved City’, showed local people’s special love for their city, and the country’s sea and islands.
The final part, themed ‘Aspirations for a New Day’, featured the strong aspirations of a 20-year-old dynamic and modern city for its further progress and deeper global integration in the future years.
In particular, the audience was treated to a colourful ‘ao dai’ (traditional long dress) fashion show performed by famous Vietnamese models.
