The 140ha Hon Cau Marine Protected Area (MPA) is located in the 12,500ha marine area in Binh Thuan Province’s Tuy Phong District. 

It is one of Viet Nam’s 16 MPAs, which play a vital role in protecting marine biodiversity, species populations, and environment.

The Hon Cau MPA is now home to 163 seaweed and 3 seagrass species, along with 266 species of coral.
