As part of cultural activities on the sidelines of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2017, the Da Nang International Lifeguard Competition took place at the Pham Van Dong Beach on Sunday.

Co-organised by the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, and the Surf Life Saving Australia, the event attracted 16 rescue teams from renowned domestic and foreign seaside holiday resorts in Vietnamese localities namely Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Nha Trang, Hoi An, along with in Australia and Thailand.

The competition aimed to create an opportunity for domestic and foreign rescuers to exchange their experiences in maritime rescue activities.
