Beautiful species of aquatic birds found in city
Published: October 22, 2018
Long time ago, Da Nang was a stopover site for numerous species of migratory birds before flying to warmer climates.
Since 2000, Da Nang has seen a rapid growth in urbanisation. Therefore, the habitat of many waterbirds or aquatic birds was diminishing, leaving only a few swampy areas for them to stop. Included are the Co Co River near the Minh Mang Bridge, ponds around the antennae pillar of the Da Nang Radio and Television Station in Son Tra District’s Nai Hien Dong Ward, plus some swamps in Hoa Lien and Hoa Son communes in Hoa Vang District, and in Cam Le and Ngu Hanh Son districts.
Let’s look at colourful waterbirds in stunning photos taken by our freelance photographer Ho Trung Tu, telling how beautiful they truly are.
