On Monday evening, a large number of locals and visitors gathered at public areas across Da Nang to enjoy fascinating musical performances to welcome in the New Year.

Despite cold and wet weather, thousands of people gathered in the 29 March Square on 2 September Street for the public New Year Countdown Party.

This year’s event featured famous domestic singers: Pham Quynh Anh, ST 365, Issac, Erik, Hoa Minzy and Ngoc Anh, along with MTV and Dalab musiccal bands.

In his remarks at the event, newly-appointed Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh highlighted remarkable achievements recorded by the city over the past year. He also thanked local residents for joining forces with the municipal authorities for the city’s progress throughout the year.

In addition, Mr Chinh took the opportunity to ask local citizens to continue joining their efforts with the municipal leaders to build Da Nang into a more beautiful, sustainable,  civilised, and prosperous city in 2019.

In a similar vein, the East Sea Park’s outdoor BNF stage on Vo Nguyen Giap Street was also livened by an interesting musical show welcoming in the New Year.

Starting from 8.00pm, the East Sea Park’s outdoor BNF stage was crowded with people.

At the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, many local residents and visitors captured celebration moments, and enjoy cool atmosphere of New Year’s Eve with their relatives and friends.
