Litter picking volunteers after fireworks shows
During 5 performance nights of the freshly-concluded Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2019, a group of students, known as the Tien Phong Team from the city’s University of Economics, volunteered their time to help collect litter along Tran Hung Dao riverside street and the Han River Bridge.
Huynh Ngoc Danh, the team leader, said, during every DIFF performance night, between 30 and 40 students participated in litter picks. They then put it into a street dustbin which is collected later by garbage trucks. In fact, they don’t mind the hard, dirty toil at all. Every night, they collected between 8 and 10 large sacks of garbage.
Encouragingly, the good deed done by the volunteer litter pickers, indeed, conveyed a good message about environmental protection, and it attracted the participation of a large number of residents and visitors, hereby together protecting the city’s green, clean, beautiful environment. Once again, such an impressive image makes Da Nang more inviting to domestic and international friends.
