Attractive Tich Thien Duong ancient traditional house invites you to explore

Under the Da Nang administration-approved plan of developing attractions, products and services on the inland waterway tourism route during the 2019-2021 period, the Tich Thien Duong house in Thai Lai Village, Hoa Nhon Ward, Hoa Vang District, will become an inviting rest stop located on the Cam Le - Tuy Loan - Thai Lai route. This site has become a popular draw for both locals and visitors for many years, and it promises to be more highly inviting in the coming time.

Let’s explore the rustic yet attractive beauty of this over 200-year-old house which feature the special cultural characteristics of a Vietnamese rural village through amazing photos captured our reporter Xuan Son.

Going through over 2 centuries with many vicissitudes in history, the ancient house still keeps intact some of the unique architectural characteristics of a Vietnamese ancient traditional house, including sophisticated carving patterns and moss-covered roof. In addition, many old utensils are kept in the house, such as a flour mill, rice mortar, cake mold, and coal iron. These items reflect the rural life of the past.

  There 36 big pillars and a truss system featuring impressive patterns carved by the highly skilled craftsmen from the renowned Kim Bong carpentry village in neighbouring Quang Nam Province.

  Accordind to Do Huu Minh, the owner of Tich Thien Duong, this venue has been his family’s worship house for many generations and provided a secret shelter for revolutionary cadres who fought in the former Quang Da battlefield during the country’s resistance war. In this photo is a horizontal lacquered board (usually engraved with Chinese characters) highlighting the name of the house.
