Over recent weeks, many inshore fishmen in Da Nang have netted bumper hauls of tiny shrimps. Therefore, the bustling trading ambience has been seen on beaches at the foot of Da Nang’s Son Tra Peninsula.

Fisherman Pham Tan Kim said “At around 5.00pm every day, I make an inshore fishing trip. In the early morning of the following day, I return to shore with a bumper catch of tiny shrimps”.

The tiny shrimp catching season starts from the 10th to late 3rd lunar months. However, local fishermen begin to enjoy bumper catches of tiny shrimps after Tet holiday.

Freshly-caught tiny shrimps are sold on beach at the prices of between 40,000 and 50,000 VND per kilo, whilst the prices of tiny shrimps, which were caught from the previous afternoon, range from 15,000-20,000 VND per kilo.

Over recent days, many fishing boats have brought back a tonne of tiny shrimps after their night-time inshore fishing trips.
