April 20, 2020, 11:48 [GMT+7]
Given the potential infectious nature of clinical waste in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, stringent regulations have been put in place in the Waste Treatment and Management Facility of the Da Nang Urban Environment Company. Over recent months, the facility has been subject to strict procedures for the management of healthcare waste arising from hospitals and quarantine sites across the city. Waste from these sites is subject to stringent controls.
The facility's staff are required to follow strictly the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s guidelines about safe handling and disposal of waste in healthcare in order to prevent the transmission of the infectious disease.
