Da Nang have experienced prolonged heatwaves which has put the city on the dangerous alert level of forest fires.
In response to an increased risk of forest fires in the summertime, the Da Nang Forest Protection Department has put in place effective measures to enhance the efficiency of forest fire prevention and firefighting in order to minimise damage to property and human life caused by forest fires.

Mr Tran Viet Phuong, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development cum Head of the Forest Protection Department, said Da Nang has been bracing for an extreme heatwave with temperatures forecast to exceed 36 degree Celsius this week. Meanwhile, the lowest humidity is reported as between 45 and 55%. Therefore, the Department has already issued a warning of a high risk of forest fires at alarming level 5, and wildfires will be possible to become more widespread and destructive from 16 - 21 May. |
