Da Nang is getting quieter before tougher restrictions will come into force from 8am on August 16-23 to fight COVID-19 with all movement and activities banned. People on Sunday went out on the streets to buy food items for their families to prepare for the upcoming 7 days of the imposition of new restrictions.

The taskforce at COVID-19 checkpoints across the city are tightening controls on road users, and they will increase their patrols and controls to higher level to enforce new restrictions on local residents from tomorrow, August 16.

Many checkpoints have been set up to protect COVID-free areas known as "green zones" to prevent the spread of the virus.

Members of the COVID-19 community task force are going door-to-door around Hoa An Ward, Cam Le District to require local residents to get tested for the virus.

Da Nang will take the most drastic measures to bring the COVID-19 situation under control within 7 days with strong determination. The city administration is urging every one across the city to obey new restrictions to help their city to successfully fight and contain the deadly disease.
