In a hypothetical situation, the 3rd floor of the COVID-19 patient treatment site located at 183 Phan Dang Luu, Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District, caught fire as a result of electrical short circuit. The unexpected blaze quickly broke out, unleashing a lot of smoke and toxic gas. Upon the reception of the SOS message, dozens of fire fighters and engines quickly arrived at the scene. Thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters, the blaze was completely extinguished.

According to Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nam, Head of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Division, over the past time, there have been a number of fire incidents happening inside COVID-19 isolation and treatment areas around the world, causing casualties and property damage.

Leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security have directed municipal and provincial police departments nationwide to ensure fire safety at COVID-19 treatment sites and field hospitals.

Under this a special situation, in addition to the safety of officers and soldiers during the fire fighting process, there is also a very high risk of COVID-19 infection. Through the above-mentioned drill, functional forces gained professional experiences and skills whilst being on duty at these sites with high exposure to the coronavirus.
