The Chien Dan Cham national-level relic site is located in Tam An Commune, Phu Ninh District, Quang Nam Province, about 60km south of Da Nang.
Chien Dan Cham is a group of three towers built in the late 10th and early the 11th centuries and dedicated to three deities of Hinduism, the dominant religion in the Champa Kingdom: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
Over the past time, the overall relic site ruins and is badly in need of restoration. However, the central area of the site still features the typical appearance of Cham culture. This place is highly assessed by researchers as having the most sandstone artifacts among the groups of three Cham towers in Quang Nam Province namely Chien Dan, Khuong My, and Bang An.
Let’s discover ancient Champa marks at the Chien Dan Cham Tower through amazing photos captured by reporter Xuan Son.

Three Cham towers at the Chien Dan Cham national-level relic site stand parallel to each other along the North - South axis but all face the same East. They are North Tower, Middle Tower and South Tower. |
There are no decorative patterns on the bodies of the towers. Each tower has 3 false doors and 1 entrance door. The top of each tower has a curved and pointed arch into the shape of a leaf. |
The Middle Tower is still quite intact. The top of this tower has one floor, and its lobby and false doors have collapsed. The sandstone bases of the he North and South towers are in a decrepit state. |
The solid construction structure of the Chien Dan Cham relic site in particular, and that of Cham architecture in general, is still a mystery. |
The domestic researchers have classified the Chien Dan Cham Tower into a group of towers belonging to the transitional style between the Cham style in My Son and the Cham style in Binh Dinh. |
The excavation at the foot of the Chien Dan Cham Tower in 1989 helped archaeologists find a system of decorative motifs on the base of the wall along with hundreds of valuable sculptures, altars, inscriptions, Cham statues, etc. in the Chanh Lo style. |
