Phu Lang Pottery Traditional Craft Village
Located in Phu Lang Commune, Que Vo District, Bac Ninh Province, the Phu Lang village is one of the famous traditional pottery villages in the country.
Dated back to more than 700 years, the pottery village is famous for simple household utensils like jars, pots, vases and ornamental pedestals traditionally made by clay.
Phu Lang ceramic products are in brown glazed, and light and brown yellow colours. The raw materials to create the products are light pink clay, whilst glaze materials include forest tree ash, quicklime, and white alluvial mud.
To meet the market’s demand, local artists have started to make their products varied with decorative patterns featuring the landscapes and daily activities of Viet Nam’s rural areas.
Phu Lang pottery products are not only sold in the domestic market but also are exported to other such foreign countries as the US, UK, France, Japan, Russia and South Korea.
