Nearly 100 people along with about 8 vehicles were used for the firefighting exercise held at the Approaching Control Centre at Da Nang International Airport on Tuesday morning.

The most modern fire truck in the world, named Panther 6X6, with full 6-wheel drive, is present at the drill.

The firefighting and rescue drill was jointly organised by the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Division under the Da Nang Police Department and the Central Flight Management Company.

The hypothetical situation for the drill was that a fire broke out on the 4^th floor of the Command Tower and a guest house for female employees. The fire was caused by a suspected explosion from the phone charging battery. It could spread through the entire building.

Immediately, the alarm bell rang, and the fire prevention and rescue work with the motto "four-on-the-spot” was activated. At the same time, the centre’s employees called the professional fire prevention and rescue police force 114 for support.

Upon receiving the news, 40 firefighters, 5 specialised fire engines of all types, a command vehicle and an ambulance rushed to the scene to put out the fire and save the people stuck inside the tower.

In addition, about 40-50 employees, plus firefighting truck Panther 6X6, at the centre were mobilised to put out the fire.

Firefighting and rescue work is carried out promptly and professionally.

The plan to get victims out of the fire is implemented quickly.

Firefighters are equipped with gas masks, protective clothing and other safety conditions while fighting fires to protect themselves from the hazards of smoke, flames, and heat

Many specialised vehicles and modern firefighting equipment are sent to the drill

After on-site first aid, the victims are transferred to the hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

The drill reflects the effectiveness of the coordination among forces in firefighting and rescue work.
