The over VND 20 billion restoration project on Cau (Bridge) Pagoda, a architectural symbol of Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An, was inaugurated in early August 2024 after 19 months of restoration.

The project has given this national-level heritage site a fresh appearance while preserving the overall architectural form and structural integrity, as well as the valuable cultural and historical values.

The architectural form of the Cau Pagoda after restoration remains largely unchanged.

The restoration work on the pagoda involved consulting, and conducting field surveys and research by experts to develop optimal restoration plans for the heritage site.

The pagoda has been painted red- a colour that has existed here since before 1985.

The pagoda has almost completely rectified its defects and significantly enhanced its sturdiness, ensuring stability and durability to continue coexisting with Hoi An's cultural heritage.

The soft, graceful curves of the roof eaves, railings, and bridge deck; the robust and sturdy structure; and the decorative motifs and details all remain as they were originally.
