Da Nang's border guards call on fishermen to anchor their boats in safe places |
As recorded on Saturday morning, the city's Border Guard force, led by Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the municipal Border Guard Command Ho Sy Hau, arrived at the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf to deploy plans to ensure safety of fishing vessels before the storm makes landfall.
According to Mr. Ho Sy Hau, in response to the complicated developments of storm No. 6, and the directives of the central and local governments, the city's Border Guard mobilised 100% of its troops and vehicles to be on duty, and assigned officers and soldiers in 17 coastal border wards to always be ready to support needy people.
"Up to now, the number of boats docking at the Tho Quang Fishing Port to avoid the storm has exceeded the permitted capacity. However, to ensure the safety of fishermen in and outside the locality, we have arranged additional space and instructed fishermen to anchor their boats to ensure safety", Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Border Guard Command Ho Sy Hau added.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 25, the city’s Border Guard Command issued a ban to boats from going to sea from 4:00 pm on the same day, as well as strictly managed and maintained communication with boats still operating at sea.
