Hai Van Gate bustling with visitors on first days of Tet

Thanks to the nice weather, thousands of people, domestic and foreign tourists, have visited the Hai Van Gate on the first days of Tet 2025.

During the Tet holiday 2025, the Hai Van Gate national relic welcomed many visitors at both home and abroad.

Hai Van Gate is located at the summit of Hai Van Pass, around 490 meters above sea level. It spans the area of Lang Co Town (Phu Loc District, Thua Thien Hue Province) and Hoa Hiep Bac Ward (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City).

This is an impressive military citadel architectural work, considered one of the most majestic passes in Viet Nam, with many cultural and historical values. This relic also plays a role as a milestone connecting the two tourist regions of the North and South Central Coast.

On December 19, 2021, the two localities of Hue and Da Nang made a "historic handshake" to revive Hai Van Gate through the implementation of the project on the conservation, restoration, rehabilitation, and promotion of the national relic Hai Van Gate.

The national relic site officially opened to visitors for free on August 1, 2024 and officially completed the restoration and renovation work on December 21, 2024. In the future, the management unit will have an assessment to build appropriate entrance fees.

During the Tet holiday, the Hai Van Gate welcomes thousands of domestic and foreign tourists every day. Here, visitors can learn about the history of the relic; admire the panoramic view of Hai Van Pass, Da Nang Beach, and Lang Co Bay; and experience convenient services such as 3D digital travel maps and NFC technology.
