City leader hosts Indian Senator

On Wednesday, the Da Nang Party Committee Secretary, Mr Tran Tho, played host to an Indian delegation led by the Vice President of the All-India Peace and Solidarity Organisation, Senator Devi Prasad Tripathi.  His visit was to mark the opening of the 2013 Viet Nam-India People’s Friendship Festival, which is being held in Da Nang between 20 and 26 October.

Senator Tripathi praised the local authorities for their great efforts in preparing well for this year’s festival.  He said that his country’s businesses have shown a keen interest in investing in the city’s science and technology sectors because these are his country’s strengths.

The Senator promised to do his utmost to promote the establishment of cooperative relations between Da Nang and some of the southern provinces of India. 

Secretary Tho spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between Da Nang and India in education and software production, and the benefits over recent years.

The city leader said that he would like the Indian government to give more support to his city in information technology training, culture, and education.
