Thailand – Da Nang cooperation discussed
During his reception on Tuesday for the Thai Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Jullapong Nonsrichai, the Da Nang People's Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between Da Nang and Thai localities in education and tourism over recent years.
However, the city leader remarked that the bilateral trade cooperation has not yet fully developed its potential, and has recorded lower than expected results. He said that he would like the Thai government to promote the opening of Thailand-Da Nang direct flights as soon as possible in order to meet the travel demands between the two localities.

Chairman Chien expressed his hope that a Thai Consulate General would soon be opened in Da Nang to further promote the bilateral ties.
In addition, the city leader said that top priority will be given to exploiting maximum benefits from the East-West Economic Corridor to create breakthroughs in such aspects as trade, seaports and services.
