To mark the 67th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (27 July), on Wednesday morning, the Vice Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr Huynh Duc Tho, visited and presented gifts to some people who are living in the Quang Nam Province Centre for Caring Social Policy Beneficiaries in Hoi An.  The recipients were all seriously wounded in the country’s resistance wars against invaders.

Vice Chairman Tho wished the war invalids good health and, on behalf of the city’s leaders, he expressed his deep gratitude to them for their great sacrifices for the reunification of the country.

On the same day, Vice Chairman Tho also paid a visit to 83-year-old heroic Vietnamese mother Phan Thi Tham from Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Phong Commune.  Her husband and son were guerrilla fighters and they laid down their lives for the nation.  Vice Chairman Tho said he hoped that she will enjoy good health and happiness for the rest of her life.

During his meeting with 74-year-old war invalid Nguyen Van An from the district’s Hoa Tien Commune, Vice Chairman Tho spoke highly of the great contributions by Vietnamese war invalids like him to the independence of the country as well as to the city’s progress.
