Deputy PM, FM holds talk with Cuban FM
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and the Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla pledged to intensify their efforts to deepen the two countries’ cooperation on bilateral and multilateral issues in Ha Noi on September 10.

During the talks, the two foreign ministers discussed measures to foster solidarity and comprehensive collaboration between the two countries and ministries. They also exchanged their views on regional and global issues of mutual concern.
The Cuban guest praised Viet Nam’s achievements during its renewal process. He also highly valued the cooperation between the two countries in multilateral forums, international organisations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and East Asia-Latin America Cooperation Forum.
Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla also affirmed that Cuba valued Viet Nam ’s consistent support to Cuba in the past.
For his part, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh reiterated that Vietnam always thought highly of the traditional relationship, fraternal solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Cuba.
Both sides agreed that the solidarity and cooperation between Viet Nam and Cuba had been consolidated and further developed recently, marked by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s official visit to Cuba in March 2014.
The two ministers also agreed to facilitate the implementation of the high-level cooperation agreements signed by the two governments recently. Via the inter-governmental economic and scientific committee, the two countries should expand their bilateral collaboration in the fields of commerce, agriculture, oil and gas, biotechnology, and construction.
On this occasion, the two sides agreed to co-organise the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year.
Later that day, the Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla met with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. The Cuban foreign minister also met with Hoang Binh Quan, the head of the CPV’s Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations.
