The Vice Chair of Viet Nam’s law-making body will lead a delegation to visit the U.S. from April 11 to 21 to take part in a senior leadership and management program and to boost the comprehensive partnership between the two nations.

The schedule was announced at a press conference in Ha Noi on Thursday afternoon by Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Hai Binh.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and the U.S.

The two countries restored their ties in 1995, twenty years after the end of the war in Viet Nam.

According to the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry, Ngan will have talks with U.S. experts and scholars about the social and economic policies of Viet Nam and the reform of Vietnamese laws and justice.

The U.S.-Viet Nam Comprehensive Partnership was set up in 2013 during the visit of Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang to Washington, D.C.

It serves as an overarching framework for advancing the two countries’ bilateral relationship.
