Defence leader greets UN Under-Secretary General
Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh valued the United Nations’ support for Viet Nam’s preparation and participation in UN peace-keeping activities during his meeting with UN Under-Secretary General for Peacekeeping Operations Herve Ladsous in Ha Noi on June 9.

Viet Nam will send officers, military medical and engineering units to UN missions in the coming time, he said.
Vinh proposed the UN provide training materials and experts in peace-keeping activities for Viet Nam.
The UN official lauded Viet Nam’s joining in peace-keeping operations in South Sudan and the Central African Republic, and affirmed the UN’s support for the country’s participation in peace-keeping activities as well as for the Viet Nam Peacekeeping Centre.
Viet Nam’s presence has showed the country’s responsibility and determination in taking part in the UN’s peace-keeping operations, Herve Ladsous said.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed orientation for future cooperation in the field between Viet Nam and the UN.
