On Tuesday, a group from the Daegu City Department of Police in South Korea, led by Major General Sul Yong Sook, was warmly received by the Director of the Da Nang Department of Police, Colonel Le Van Tam.

Major General Sul highly praised the local police for their great efforts in ensuring local security, creating a peaceful living environment for local residents, making expats feel secure whilst living and working in the city, and maintaining a safe destination for domestic and foreign visitors.

The South Korean guest also took the opportunity to ask Da Nang’s police force to ensure the safety and legitimate rights of the South Korean people who are living and working in the city.  She also promised that her city’s police force would make every effort to ensure the safety of, and provide effective assistance for, the around 5,000 Vietnamese people who live in Daegu City.

In reply, Colonel Tam remarked that there have been 19 exchange visits by police officers between his city and Daegu since 2005.  This has helped to further deepen the fruitful bilateral relationship between the police forces of the 2 localities.

On the same day, the South Koreans also visited the Lien Chieu District Police, police forces in charge of the Hoa Khanh and Lien Chieu industrial parks (IPs), and the South Korea-invested Vina Kad Company operating in the Hoa Khanh IP.
