City leaders visit religious dignitaries
On Wednesday, a group of Da Nang leaders led by municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh paid visits to some Church establishments to wish local religious dignitaries and followers a happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year. These were the Diocese of Da Nang, the city branch of the Viet Nam Christian Mission, and a representative office of the Southern Evangelical Church of Viet Nam in the city.
Secretary Anh highlighted the important role of the religious dignitaries and followers in upholding national unity for the sake of the city’s progress. He said he hoped that they would continue their joint efforts with all residents to further the city’s development and ensure a good secular and religious life.

In reply, the religious dignitaries thanked the city leaders for their care over recent years. They promised to encourage their followers to continue with their efforts to develop Da Nang into a more peaceful and prosperous city.
During his meeting with Secretary Anh, Bishop Chau Ngoc Tri of the Diocese of Da Nang remarked that the city has seen significant changes to its socio-economic development over the past decade. He attributed the remarkable achievements to the effective leadership shown by the local authorities and the high consensus amongst local residents.
He extended his best wishes to Secretary Anh, and hoped that he would do his utmost to make Da Nang a more modern and civilised city in the years ahead.
