On Tuesday, the Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Mr Vu Trong Kim, visited Catholic dignitaries at the Da Nang Cathedral on the occasion of Christmas.

General Secretary Kim wished the Catholic dignitaries and followers a happy and peaceful Christmas.  He highly praised local Church followers for their active involvement in promoting the city’s progress and making Da Nang a more liveable city.

In reply, Bishop Chau Ngoc Tri thanked the visiting guest for his kind wishes.  He also took the opportunity to express his sincere thanks to the Da Nang leaders for facilitating local religious followers to practise their faith. 

He promised that he and local Catholic dignitaries would do their utmost to encourage their followers to continue with their efforts to develop Da Nang into a more prosperous and modern city.
